We leave windows open here in the desert during summer to prevent the oven-effect when returning to a parked car. Today was not a good day to do that since we had a cloudburst while I was inside the shoe store. I got my leather seats dried off, put my new boots in the boot and headed for home. After about three miles, my CE light came on though the car felt OK in normal traffic. I pulled into a lot and turned it off then back on; light still there and RPM will not go over 3K. Codes found by AutoZone are P0174, P1642 and P1111 which I looked up in JTIS.
Now when I had opened boot to but new boots in there, a huge amount of water flowed into the channels and I hope down the sides and rear. None seemed to go inside the cavity itself. If water got somewhere it should not have at that moment, or worked its way to somewhere bad, I am theorizing this might be the result. I have had the thing 15 months with no serious trouble at all with anything. ('02 2.5 manual 114K miles)
Earlier that day, my battery had gotten low and did a couple of clickety click no-turn-over crank attempts before going on charger for a while; all was well after except both trip odometers zero-ed themselves. No other evidence of any trouble unless this is related.
