Default Rear Sway Bar Link Replacement

Can anyone direct me to instructions on replacing rear sway bar links? I have already replaced these once (Federal Mogool-after market). But, soon after installation the ball joint came apart. Now I have a new pair of links purchased at the local Jaguar dealer. Not sure if I did something wrong or the parts were not made to specifications. The sway bar bushings were also replaced, these are fine. I had the rear tires on a ramp when I did this repair. Before I install the new ones, would you please share your knowledge. Thanks.

Panthera, first off, welcome to the forums. I think you will find a lot of very useful information here. But, we do ask a simple thing from you though. Please stop by the "New Member Forum" and introduce yourself. We pride ourselves in being a different sort of car group and we like to get to know one another. This will also give you a chance to meet who the key people are around here too. May even get a small surprise in the end too.

As for your problem. It sounds like your Mogool parts were defective as they should not have broke unless you have something else going on with the suspension (ie, shock frozen and that corner of the car can not move which I am sure you would have other concerns). Replacing the end links should be nothing more than jacking up the rear of the car so that both wheels are unloaded (ie, off the ground). From there, you undo the ends of the links, install the new ones, and then tighten down. You need both tires in the same condition otherwise you are going to find that when you do the first bolt, things are not going to look too good as things are going to come flying apart.

Thermo, thank you for the reminder - just posted an introduction.
I'll try jacking up the rear vehicle as you mentioned. On my first try I had car wheels down on two ramps. Not sure if either way makes a difference, but I will proceed with your instructions. Thank you!

Panthera, it probably doesn't make any difference. What you will notice is that if the wheels are not at the same point, getting everything lined back up is going to be a PITA. Hence why I say to lift the rear tires off of the ground. That way they are both at full droop which will put them at the same point.
