Remove boot plinth
Hello forum,
While adding vibration dampening to the trunk I thought to remove the boot plinth to paint it. I quickly found out removing this sucker was not so easy. I found some threads on the subject but all pictures were gone so I thought someone here might have some insight to removing the two outside plastic fasteners. As always, thanks to everyone on this forum for your generous time. Chris |
Chris, if you got to the 2 center ones, getting to the 2 outside ones is the same way. Just have to move your hand around some. Granted (it has been many a year since I did this), I seem to remember that if you remove the whole trim piece that is on the trunk interior, you will find that there are 2 small holes that allow you to stick a socket in and get to those outside pieces. Otherwise, you are shoving your hand around inside the trunk to get a wrench on the fasteners.

10mm, IIRC. Be careful not to drop either the nut or the socket into the trunk lid. Extraction is quite an adventure (ask me how I know!)
