reversing lights and parking sensors not working
jag x-type 2008 sovereign Reverse lights and front and rear parking sensors do not work Sometimes, for a second or so, but not every time the audible signal in the car may sound and the red light in the roof may come on.....even when there is no obstruction near-by.
Any ideas please.....fuse?..reversing switch?..reversing aid module?....anything else?

vinniejag, first off, welcome to the Forums. Lots of good information and tons of great people. We do ask a favor of you though too. You will find that we are a friendly group of people and we like to get to know one another. So, please stop by the "New Member" section and give us a little introduction to yourself and why you are driving a Jag. This will also help you get to learn who the key people are around here too.
As for your problem, based on your problem, I am guessing that you have a manual transmission in your car. If this is the case, then there is a 99% chance that your problem is the transmission reverse switch. If you look down behind your battery, you will see a 2 wire plug sticking out the top of your transmission. That is your reverse switch. Buy a new one and put it in. It will take a deep well socket to get out (23, 27 mm, something like that). To install, you simply screw the new one in and snug it up (do not need to get very tight) and then reconnect the plug.
If you have an automatic transmission, then let us know and we can help you troubleshooting it from there.
