right side cat

right side cat
Getting mentally prepared to replace the right cat on my 2002 X Type. I do have a couple of questions though. First, does the sub frame have to come completely off or can it be loosened enough to get the cat by it? I will be using a lift, but am curious if the drive on lift is better than the one that lifts from the frame under the car as I will have access to both? And lastly, is there a link that details exactly which bolts need to removed to loosen the sub frame? I seem to recall a link somewhere but I have searched and am just not coming up with it this time. I saw a link at the beginning of the X Type forum referring to handbook download. Is the repair manual, owners manual, or maint. manual? I am cautious about downloading things so haven't tried yet until I know for sure exactly what I'm downloading. Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes we have the emission test where I live in Texas. Code tells me cat is performing below threshold. It also says it's running lean. I will have items here to change plugs next week to take care of intake gaskets etc etc. I was wondering if the lean running will cause it to give me the cat code? If not I'm thinking the cats clogged? I was told that it's not the sensor as they give very specific codes.
