Satnav wiring loom
Sat Nav Wiring Loom HAS A GREEN CONNECTOR at Console END - WHERE DOES THIS ACTUALLY PLUG INTO ?
It does not go into the Head unit - anyone know ?? Happy New Year to all Members |

the green plug goes to a socket in the foot well under the fuse panel. BUT that socket picks up the dash loom that has the plug for the touchscreen, this bit of the loom in normally not fitted on cars that did not have a sat nav factory fitted. you need the bit of the loom from the green socket to the rear of the touchscreen and also picks up the power ect. I will pm you a photo of this bit of the loom.

Simon my great thanks for your input. I have decided to have one long plug'n play loom made which takes care of all the
various and updated pin outs required for a non-standard satnav X type.By plugging directly into the head unit and avoiding the connections under the rear seat and the panel below the fuse box passenger front side and problems with SCP etc. Costs a bit more but the guy who does the work is experienced and I will rely on him to get it right.. regrds |

Hi Nikolay - Do you require the plug and play loom ?. I have now incorporated this into my vehicle and it works perfectly with no need for the standard Jaguar loom that plugs into the bank of connectors below the glove box compartment. I can supply you with the name and contact details for the person who is making such looms and I do recommend him most highly. Should you be undertaking installing the satnav system I do have quite a few of the components you will need - please let me know what you require. regards Ray

The guy who sold me the whole sat nav kit, told me that there is all I need, including cables, but I do not have any connectors to the sat nav head unit. I am not sure what else am I missing, but I do have dvd, phone, sat nav, radio, rccm module. I also have a wiring coming from dvd unit and it ends with a green connector, where should it be plugged? And If I use custom plug and play wiring, will it be easy to install? And what does it cost? |

The guy who sold the setup did not supply the extension lead from the green plug at the end of your satnav loom - Buying one is almost impossible getting one made will cost around the same as and entire plug and play loom with overcomes certain other issues automatically ( SCP problem ) The cost of such a loom is around £105 and can be obtained from Steven Robinson - email address stevenrbnsns@aol.com he is really helpful and the good thing it works great - plugs into satnav CD unit in the boot and directly into head unit at the front console. This lead does not need to be connected to the Blue plug under the back seat as it takes its power from elsewhere. |
