Speaker Fix
 

OK... I admit replacement is better than fix... *but* this fix seems to work well :-)

My son has this thing about being constantly told off for slamming the car door.. and with the car being 12 years old things are in some cases getting more frail.

His door speaker died.. so I stripped the door panel off noting one screw in middle of the door panel and one at the bottom.. plus a spring clip to take off the window winder to allow the panel to be taken off.

On unscrewing and removing the speaker I found no magnet! The speaker is mounted on a plastic chassis and over time and door closures it looks like the heavy magnet can come unfixed and then it sticks to the nearest metal which is the outer skin of the door..

Anyway if you aren't ready to replace the speaker silcoset (silicon sealant) works very well I have found :-) Just sandwich the magnet to the plastic chassis with silcoset and then surround the joint .. it works a treat..

Yes I know, not a huge saving - but as a store here called Tesco says.. 'every little helps' :-)
