Baker, you need to get a product called "disc pad glue". It comes in many names, but in short, it is a high temp rubber cement. The Stuff I have is called "Disc Quiet" and it is a redish pink product that you apply to the back side of the pad. You want to apply it where ever the pad touches the caliper. What this does is adds a very thin rubber piece between the pad and the caliper to prevent squeaks. So, on the outside pads, you would put the glue on the front and rear edges of the pad and then some in the middle to glue the pad in place. On the inside pad, you want to apply the glue where the piston touches the pad. Then, after applying the glue (while it is still wet), you want to slide the caliper in place (does not need to be bolted in) and then step on the brakes to squeeze out as much of the glue as possible. This will 1) garantee the longest life out of the pads as they will be sitting flat, and 2) this will help keep as much heat transfer between the pad and the caliper to maintain long/hard braking without fading.
A bottle of the stuff will cost you like $5 (USD). Well worth the cost.
If you have more questions, just ask. I have been using this product for over 10 years and 1 bottle will be enough to do your car about 10 times, your wife's car 10 times, and a few of your friend's cars numerous times. Doesn't take a lot of this to do the trick. And if you are worried about pulling the pads off later. Don't. A little bit of pressure and the glue joint breaks to allow replacement of the pads.
