Cool Still in love with my sexy jaguar x-type

Just had to pop in to let everyone know how wonderful the x-type is.
I know everyone has issues, and it can get pricy. But so does any other car, and id really rather spend my money on this boner-inducing machine then some other p.o.s.

So remember guys! Your car is sexy, and that makes you look sexy, and chicks dig sexy.

Yup, once again our cars have a "Wow" factor that no German car can match.

EVERYBODY notices when a Jaguar is present!

I agree. I get sick of reading these idiot rankings of what a dud this car is, posted by some know-it-all auto reporter. This car looks good and is not a rolling service hog. My 2005 has cost me almost nothing in repairs and the cost of service is no more than my wife's Lexus RX. It rides nice, looks good, and without a doubt is the best value in the used car market as far as I can tell. Anyone who believes the media on this car is missing out on a great value.

Shhhhhhh! If everyone knew how easy they were to own then everyone would have one. I enjoy being different and look good, er, damn good, doing it.

I love mine and no one has ever seen one modified. People will call it "exotic", which I find pretty funny, given how cheap the car was.

In 16 years I have bought 4 new cars - BMW 325i, Acura TL, Mercedes C280 and the X. The only reason I got the X was because my wife liked it. Guess what. It's the favorite car I ever owned....very understated elegance.

Every single angle of the X is just jaw-droppingly beautiful. I honestly believe that this car will become a classic in about 20-30 years.

After two months of ownership of our X-Type that I purchased for my girl friend I find myself becoming jealous of her and I'm looking into finding one for myself. Fortunately, I have a reliable vehicle and can take my time to find the right deal.

i also have a friend who after seeing mine...wants to get one, its especially funny as before i got it he was making fun of me and saying how fabulous his honda elephant (element) was for only $20,000. After i got my X his jaw about dropped when he saw it, then.....when i told him i could buy 3 of these for the price of his element...he almost wet himself.
So he's offered me a finders fee to get one for him, and he doesn't own a wrench so insisted i be his mechanic too....expect more posts...lol.
I love my X more than any of my previous 25 yrs of custom vehicles...love it love it love it.

Just adding to the love-fest, I've had my car for a while now and I still STILL give it second glances when I'm walking away. Though, I try to be coy about it.

It's just a beautiful car, not much else to say. Usually I sell my cars after a while, but I'm keeping my baby til death do us part.

Exactly man!!! I don't know why people give this car such a hard time. My dad bought my 04 X-type at 24K. The only problem I've had was the A/C compressor was no good on the car when we bought it....we just didn't know this because it was winter when we purchased the car. The dealer was not very nice about it so we ended up having to pay for the repair. Aside from that my baby has never given me a problem and I fall in love with my car all over again every time I wash her.

I'm about to do some serious upgrades to my baby this year. It is my personal birthday gift to myself. Wish me luck!

Default X-type

I just finished remoding my new aftermarket wheels. They didn't have the JAG. emblem. I took the center caps off and found dead center then hole sawed a 2" hole, reset all the original JAG emblems and secured them with epoxy and a retainer. You can't tell them from OEM, they look fantastic. Yes these cars get a bad wrap but I know people that have spent thousands on there so called cheap ride. I feel good when I drive it and it looks great and thats worth a lot, period! I look for excuses to toy with it and take it apart. Nobody(friends, wife, psychiatrist ha ha ) understands but I don't care.

I could not agree more with these comments .I have owned my 2004 X type for 3 years it is my daily driver. It is one of the most reliable vehicle i have owned. All i have replaced is a Rear caliper $70.00 other than regular service stuff which i do myself.
It always gets looked at and always comments on what a good looking ride.
The X type has gotten a bad rap.
I love my Black Cat.

I think the X just has a bad rap because it's a Jaguar. People jump on the first chance to hate on a luxury car brand. What they don't realize is that it isn't the best thing from the brand, this car performs much better than even some recently produced cars.

There are people who modify automatic V4 Honda Preludes, and we're the silly ones for making our cats look good?

Exclamation Help and advise

Good evening jag colleagues I have just bought my x type it's AMAZING, but noticed a small drip of oil on the top of the engine, am I right in assuming it could be a gasket on the rocker or not ?

Yeah that's one of the best things about modding my car, yeah I've spent a lot on parts but I know people who have spent a lot more on something like a Honda or Toyota, not that it isn't worth it to them, but I love being the ONE modded Jag at a lot of local car meets and whatnot.
