I did a search and found a wire harness for Jaguar 2003 and up, but I would think it would work on a 2002 x-type since I think 2002 and 2003 are the same. Does anyone know for sure or is 2002 different?

get that harness it will work fine..may have to change a few wire connectios but,it is what you want..Are you installing your self?.Remember not many double din decks fit in our space due to the heater guts back their.grab threir face plate and anntenna adaptor.

 

Ok thanks IrishXtype=). I took out my JVC HD radio from my z4. It's a single din so it should be ok. I will install myself. I've done quite a few installs, but I need to figure out how to remove the radio from the ac part. I pulled it out last night just to see and it looks like there is some small screws that should release it, but leave the ac connected to that metal frame. I'm going to guess the dash kit comes with the side adapters to enable my radio to bolt onto the metal frame somehow. I have a euro antenna adapter already so I think that will work. I'll order the parts asap. Thanks again Irish=)

also, there is a couple different dash kits from metra for the jag. One has the center divider built in and another does not. Does it matter. Is the one with the center more stable? or Aesthetically better looking?

I have held both in my hands..they are pretty ridgid..Myself i found the one with the divider more pleasing to the eye..and looked ,a little better than the other.make sure ya get the black one as their is another colour.with similar part #.

 

I ordered the double/single din one just incase I get a different radio sometime. There's always xmas=). I can't wait to have something that will connect to my ipod and receive hd radio. If there was one that played mkv and avi and mp4 files of a memory stick with a nice big screen, I would get something like that. For now my phone plays all that really well.
