Default Tone/Balance adjustment of Premium Sound

Hi Folks,

I have acquired a lovely 3.0 Sovereign with premium Alpine sound. The touch screen menus take me through to DSP settings and auto volume for Navigation etc but I cannot find how to adjust treble/bass/sub. Am I missing a screen or can't this be done?

Thanks for your help.

Jonk, get the radio to turn on. Press and hold the "VALET" button in the upper left corner of the radio. Hold it for like 15 seconds. You should see the screen change. Once inside there, you should be able to make the adjustments that you are after.

Many thanks for this. Unfortunately there is no Valet button in this car. Only Audio, Phone, Climate, Nav, Menu.

The Menu button takes me to the Brightness/Volume Preset/System Setup/Screen Off/Logo Screen, however nothing from there leads on to any tone balance or equaliser settings...

Have you tried looking at the audio manual or did it not come with the car?

Attached is a PDF version. You should be able to figure it out from here.

Indeed I did - the Touch Screen manual has been well and truly wrung out with me searching... even to the point of it going on about Rear Multimedia settings for the XJ, but apparently lacking in this info for the X Type.

Thank you for attaching this version.
