Sounds like you shorted out the electrical system (if you're lucky). Check all fuses and let car sit another day or so....while you're waiting for the car to dry out, check the voltage of the battery...if it's under 9 volts you'll need to charge it or replace it......

If car still doesn't start, call your insurance company and total it. The expense of getting it cleaned and repaired probably won't be worth it since the entire electrical system will have to be replaced, and the water sitting under your rug will eventually start to mold and most likely start to rust...if you don't pull the entire carpet out (not kidding) if you say that the water was 1/2 way up door that means it was 1/2 way up on your engine......you know what happens to metal (aluminum) when heated to 200-300 degrees and you pour water on it??? it makes this "tink " sound and splits open and or warps really really bad! NOT GOOD....

good luck......

Sorry to give you the bad news.....hopfully it just may be something simple....

Well without seeing and hearing it...can't really say.....what do you mean by "pretty dry..."

dude, if the water was 1/2 way up yer door...there is no way your carpet is pretty dry....

anway, if you have full coverage you should be good to go......try turning your engine by hand. Get a pry bar on the crank and if it spins freely...you may be able to save it.

Best bet is to have a pro look at it if you're not sure......either way it's gonna cost ya......
