Default What has been your most expensive repair?

Still researching the X-Type.

Curious, what has been your single most expensive repair?

Have you had reoccurring repairs for the same problem.. what were they and did they ever get completely solved?

Most expensive, oil pan gasket. Just over $700.

Most annoying problem? My ABS light has been on since I bought the car. I won't come on when the weather is cold or wet. It comes on usually after 3-5 minutes of driving. I even pulled a code, C1288. Apparently it's the pressure sensor. But thats under the hood on the ABS module. I cant see how it's effected by cold or especially rain.

Best improvement was fitting the ACM to play my iPod through the radio. $400.

Had the water pump replaced at about 100K and the rear lower control arms a little later. I think those were both like $300-$400. Other than that the car has been great. Have had it about 4 1/2 years and it now has about 125K. Overall it has been one of the most reliable and satisfying cars I have ever owned.

I bought mine with a rebuilt transmission. After driving it for a year and only 65,000 miles on it, it lost oil and 2 quarts low the motor blew.

Throttle body replacement $650, which was a deal. In honesty, with over 156K on my Jag, I've been very pleased with it's run. Can't wait to surpass 200K.

I do my own repairs but I do remember my X-type fuel pump was pretty pricey- I think about $450 just for the pump itself.

Rear hub - $250

My A/C compressor quit and puked refrigerant all over the driveway in December.

Oil changes, brakes, plugs....normal stuff.

Buy her the Jag!

$500+ for the dealer to remove the dash and clear out blockage in the A/C condensation drain. Lots of leaves/junk had made their way in and A/C condensate was draining onto the passenger floor.

That's the one I had to pay for. Replacing the T-Case, which was done under warranty, would have been fearsome...

Default Rear Control Arm...

That has been my most expensive repair. Other: Water pump. $190 including a new water pump and labor. To date, other stuff has been maintenance. Transmission fluid, rear differential fluid, tires, spark plugs, cabin filter. Have a good weekend.

I got my 2011 XK about 14 month ago with about 5k on the odo. Now It has about 15k run.

Meanwhile I had an annual service done and the water pump replaced.

Car sometimes smells slightly of coolant in the engine bay when hot. After 6 months I got the AFS swivel light warning with left light pointing down. It comes back every 4 months or so.

This week I got the feared pedestrian warning twice, for the first time ever.

With the second set of wheels I bought for winter, the TPMS warning is triggered. Has not come back since I refitted the original summer wheels. Will put new sensors into the winter wheels.

I am sometimes trickle charging with ctek. Have connected it to battery ports.

Had to replace ac compressor -$1500.00. Other than that just small stuff normal for a 16 year old car. I;ve owned it about 2 1/2 yrs. Has over 130,000 miles. Has been very reliable. One of best cars I ever owned.

My most expensive single repair was my divorce, which repaired a major problem and made me single again, but it wasn't cheap.
