What's the plastic thing-ama-jig under the Manifold that carries the Injectors and Fuel Rail? The Manifold bolts into it. Is it a Manifold Inlet, Lower Manifold, where can I find another?
I seemed to have stripped out the brass nuts due to over tightening the bolts. When i say stripped out I mean the brass nuts broke out of the plastic carrier. Never thought I'd be using Brass Nuts in this context........ I've only jacked up two, but I need a new one of these inlet things - or someones good condition spare for a "I want to help you out" price. Is the S-Type Inlet/Lower Manifold compatible?
What is this thing called!?
...........Thanks

There is a nice picture to demonstrate your question. Looks for the Thermo's reply at the end.

Ah, thanks for that Tiny. I read part of that post earlier today (got daring and ventured to page 2 in the forum) but I didn't read it all the way to the end...... I'm glad you suggested it. There's hope for a fix after all!
Fortunately my two front right bolts stripped so I was at least able to get a washer, nut and bolt from the hardware store to MacGyver it temporarily but it's just that, temporary. I put everything back together and the Jag runs well, but I'm sure it's not optimal.

ugotmale,
I have 2 bolts that are stripped as well, been driving like that for the past 3 months, and it works like a charm. No vacuum leaks or anything; I just put them into their brass fittings and lightly screwed them in as best as i could (they don't hold). I know its only a matter of time before something acts up again but I'm planning to retire my vehicle by the end of this year.
Other than that I might make it into a project car b/c tuning it will cost me a fortune.
