Wheel Lock Nuts

My 2004 x-type 3.0 is short one wheel nut when I bought it last month.
It does not have any locking nuts, so I`m thinking I should get a set.
Anyone know a good place to pick some up and the thread size?
Thanx

Originally Jaguar offered dome shaped locking wheel nuts as an accessory (at vast expense ?)
Many folk have had problems with them and the key/socket.
Lots of threads on the subject on several Jaguar forums.
Lots of unhappy folks paying big bucks to get them removed etc.
In the 2008 accessory catalogue Jaguar now offer what looks like McGard locking wheel nuts. These have been supplied on UK Fords / Volvos for at least 10 years.
Many folks consider them the best.
I will be replacing my old style Jaguar ones with McGard.
It appears that model 24157 ( no washers on them) is for steel wheels and 20116SU and for alloy wheels.
Needless to say that the set from Jaguar come in a neat little box but at when I enquired locally, almost three times the cost of buying regular packs online.
A lot of info /pic of the Jaguar boxed set.

I just bought a set of 25 regular, no washer, black wheel nuts off eBay. They've been on for six months with no problems. Look good too.

Jaguar specify nuts with washers for alloy wheels and I would be nervous fitting anything else. There must be a good reason for this design.

In the UK an Insurance Company will ask what modifications have been made and will may not pay out if they find undeclared changes.
I am fitting locking nuts from the Jaguar accessories list.
These types were not in the accessories list when my X Type was sold so even this change could be a problem.

Lug Nuts X-Type

Hello, everyone. I purchased extra lug nuts for my '03 X-Type directly from the dealer. The purchase price was $4.10/ea. About a month earlier, they were $19.99/ea. I recommend purchasing extra and also double check that you have the proper tool for removal. If you have a flat, and are on the road, not all emergency road side services have the correct wrench for removal. Thank you. Bill in Ohio.

Just got a set of new Jaguar O.E. locking wheel nuts off Ebay for $45.00 Seems like a good deal. They look like the same as Mcgard.
The 20116su Mcgard are only sold in the UK for $50.00 with $30.00 shipping!

>Jaguar O.E. locking wheel nuts

Why bother, if someone wanted to steal my Cayman wheels then go ahead...

I hate those wheels and would be just as happy if someone did take them since I could get a better wheel with the insurance payment.
