Wheel Selection Questions
1 Attachment(s)
I have had my X-Type for almost 2 years now and absolutely love it. I have it lowered on H&R springs with the stock 17 inch wheels. I am planning in October to order new wheels for the car. I have been looking at TSW Bathurst wheels in either 18 or 19 inch sizes.
The questions I have are 1. 225/35/19 tires with these 40mm offset wheels should fit no problem (correct me if i'm wrong) 2. My car now has somewhat of a hovercraft fitment which i'm sure most of you know about the stock car. But i'm wondering if 5 or 10mm spacers would fix this issue? "with a little work on the fenders of course" 3. Is it a good idea to get a 8.5 inch rim instead of the stock 8 and stretch a little so I don't rub with my spacers? 4. I have read a lot of previous threads of "bigger wheels" or "bagged jaguar" by exexpat. But I am still unsure if these wheels are a good purchase for this car. 5. The tires I plan on buying are the Extreme Contact DW because they are known to be very quiet and great performers in wet weather. I have included a picture of the wheels in question and would appreciate any professional discussion and input you have on the list of questions listed. Thank You, DustysSon |
40 offset on an 8.5 should be fine with 225s. I liked the way my old 19s looked on my x lowered with KW coilovers, but I went with 18s when I lowered it more. I had to roll my fenders a lot to fit the 19s but that's mostly because they where 19x9.5 and I was running 245/35/19s. Go with 8.5 and 225s haha.
