X-Type Headlight: A Quick Question (or 2)

Hello to All,
I have read something about this matter somewhere (on here or UK Forum) - but, I cannot seem to find anything concrete !!

QUERY:
After removing the screw cap on the rear of the Headlight (High Beam) inside the enclosure - there is an aluminium tab or lever.

This lever is able to be set; UP or DOWN ?

I have read (previously) this lever-setting has something to do with which side of the road you are driving on ?
Europe = Right side : UK = Left side

Can someone please explain if this is correct ? and if so, how does this adjustment actually work and affect the headlight ??

Also, if the above is true.... which setting (UP/DOWN) is to be used for UK roads ???

Thank you in anticipation :icon_woot:

Well, thinking about this logically... =:-0

It might seem that light on the driver's side could be depressed somewhat v.s., the light on the passenger side to avoid blinding on-coming drivers.
You could always park facing a wall and with the head light on see if one side is focused markedly higher on one side than the other. Then check the position of the lever for confirmation.

Or, while shining the lights on the wall try raising and lowering the lever to see what happens.
