What up ya'll. Getting some freezing rain/sleet and snow here in Northern VA. The Jag is in the garage, Murano outside....

Anyway, need to call Jaguar and find out about TSBs performed/not performed on the car......

Got a day off here in Maryland!! Snow and ice is too thick!!

 

I love Florida!!!! Superbowl, NCAA Basketball and Football champs, NBA Champs MIAMI HEAT!!!, and I almost forgot; 80*F through out most of winter! At least here in Miami!!

 

Drove the Jag in the snow and ice today.....loved it....Just like an SUV....I saw a Mercedes anda 745 Beama stuck in the snow....i was laughing my azz off.....

I must admit, i was quite surprised with the AWD. Having the AWD is one of the main reasons i got the Jag.....

Still trying to get used to the transmission and engine....It seems like the tranny shifts to prematurely. Is this normal?

 

Yeah the tranny is a bit funny that way. I keep mine in sport mode.

Is it okay to keep on sports mode all the time? How much does it affect gas mileage?

My Saab 9-3 was a manual, but it definetely seems like the Jagtranny shifts way too early into the next gear. And when you push the gas, the car hardly moves unless you really punch it.

 

In sports mode, it shifts at a bit higher RPM, I wanna say an extra 500 rpm's. If you keep your foot out of it, you should be getting 17-18 mpg

I don't see it being a problem in keeping it in spport mode....infact, I think sport mode should be the norm....
try it for a few days and see what you think...

Lol......I drive in sports mode most of the time, but in manual........then you change when you want, Not when the car wants.
