X - Type Transmission issues

I have a 2007 Jaguar Xtype and the transmission is shifting very slow. The car has 172000 miles on it.
Should I consider buying a used transmission from the salvage shop?

You should search here how to change the transmission fluid. I used and prefer the "14 second method".
