Hey Folks

My wife's '04 X-Type wagon needs a new rear wiper, just the part that mounts in the glass hatch. That would be just the arm and crank assembly. We've got a new motor installed in the tailgate but we need the arm assembly. This seems to be a mystery part. We've tried our local dealer here in Waterloo Ontario. I think our parts guy gave it a valiant effort through the normal channels and came up empty. He tried their chain here and in the US and Europe. There is some confusion about whether the motor and the arm should all come together or not or that the arm assembly is only available already mounted in the glass hatch. That is an option if we are willing to pay over 2 grand for it. Maybe that's not an option after all.

Any suggestion would be great. Anyone know of a wreckers that might have an X-Type wagon?

Thank you very much for that. I'm not totally sure but I think every part except the one I'm looking for is in that diagram. It's the thing that the wiper arm bolts to that I'm looking for. I think #5 is the motor which mounts in the tail gate. It's the part the arm mounts on in the glass that is seized.
Full disclosure. I have not seen this stuff disassembled myself. This is all based on my mechanics description but I suspect I'm going to have to get in there for a look myself.

I'll pass the parts diagram on to the mechanic to see what he says. Thanks again.

Just chatted with my mechanic. This is the same diagram he's working from. I'm afraid that the only solution from Jag is to replace the whole window with the mechanism mounted in it. I imagine if you look up the parts diagram with the rear hatch window it will show it with the part I'm looking for mounted in it.

So I found the most detailed explosion of a sport wagon rear glass lift gate. Unfortunately it was Russian but I got a screen shot of every part you can research by. I tried one that I knew what is was (the sprayer) & it worked.

Wow. Thanks. Could you send me the link to that page? I've got some Russian friends who could translate for me. I'm going to say part #15 is what I'm looking for. I'll pass this along to my mechanic, who by the way is a great guy at The Cat's Cradle in Toronto.
