Default Siri Now Works - Dealer replaced the Telematics Control Unit

I wanted to share with you a follow up. I had some intermittent problems with my radio and also playing music via bluetooth, in addition to Siri not working. The dealer replaced my Telematics Control Unit and also did the latest software update. Siri now works perfectly in my car without any issues. My car is new so everything was covered under warranty. Very pleased now to be able to use it.

I am unsure if it matters but I do know JLR is having lots of connectivity issues with the iPhone 7. I just got the update done called Phase 2.5 which is supposed to help with the iPhone in general.

How do you trigger/use Siri when in the car? Are you using the phones button or the steering wheel speak button or etc?

My Jaguar Remote app stopped working on 12/23/2016 and I await for an update to come to fix that but all else seems pretty good.

I have an iPhone 6s. I trigger Siri by either saying "hey siri" or holding down the home button on my iPhone. I use both. I will try the steering wheel speak button to see if that works.

This problem is now fixed. I am not sure exactly what fixed it; iOS has been updated a few times and I've also had updates applied to the XE system.

Using Siri now behaves exactly as I anticipated: when starting Siri (doesn't matter how, "Hey Siri" or long-pressing the home button etc) one can see a phone call in progress with one's own phone number. So either JLR updated the InControl system's Bluetooth system ID, or Apple added InControl Touch Pro to the iOS database of Bluetooth systems that don't properly implement a specific interactive Bluetooth protocol.

Hi,

I just bought a 2018 XE and seem to be experiencing the same problem as originally described.

Using an iPhone 6s with the latest iOS release (10.x) and it will not respond to long-pressing the voice-control button on the steering wheel.

I'm encouraged by the last post that said it's working after an update, but since I have a newer vehicle, I would have thought it wouldn't need that update.

So I'm confused... do I complain to my dealer and take it in for warranty work, or do I complain to the deaf-ears at Apple?

This problem was also on my car, then I found a thread on Google. There were tips on siri not working on iphone. Which was a solution with a screenshot here.

Default Same Problem and more

I have both a new 2017 F-Type and a 2017 Range Rover Sport. they both have the issue of the microphone not hearing for Siri as well as anything that I could use voice text dictation on. Now here's the odd thing. While the F-Type is in the shop, they loaned me an F-Pace that according to the dealer has slightly older software.....it works just fine.
