Thumbs down Jaguar Service Fails Again...

Brought our car for annual service, wife asked the service writer to not change the TPMS mode (Light Lode) and do not alter the pressure (37 x 37). Get the car back and it's set to Normal Lode and 37 x 42. Called the dealer and ask why and it's one BS excuse after the next. The service tech doing the work lied on the notes. The service bill notes it's said "the pressure was set to 37 x 37" which it was not. They're 10 for 10 on failures; this is really getting frustrating and makes me not want to buy another Jag. We've even put a note in the car not to change the settings once yet they still do. Very frustrating...

You have a very low bar for frustration. I expected to read a post and commiserate how the dealer damaged something, instead you are complaining about 42 psi vs 37 psi on rear wheels.

Yes, it may be low. I plead with them every way I know how to not change those settings, yet they still do it or lie about not changing them; it's just frustrating. It's like I didn't even drive 10' and knew they failed again; my wife just believes what
s on the invoice notes. If they get the easy stuff they did not even have to touch wrong; what else did they get wrong they said they fixed? Can I trust the dealer to actually do the work correct?

They delivered it with a broken seat belt buckle, so safety isn't high on their list either.

Mechanic is likely following checklist/procedure that has a line item to set tire pressures to factory defaults.

Looks like you're in the Boston area. You have at least 3 dealer options - why not switch? Who are you with?

Sounds like a dealer concern, not a jaguar issue.

ya that and change the TPMS mode to something other than what it had and what the customer stating they wanted in the service invoice.

I go to the closest one to my house that I bought the car from. I leave their name out of it, but I live in Framingham... A major point of buying a Jaguar was proximity to the dealer for me. When I owned older Jags, I lived in Brighton and Samuel's was half mile from my house.

JLR has a few products we'd like to consider when the XE is up (next June), but we never had these issues with our Volvo. I do appreciate the local Jag dealer providing me a rental car; I don't think I would get that going to a dealer I did not buy from (or do I). They've dropped off and picked up my car from my house which is generous. That's all good, but leave the tire pressure where I ask and don't reset my TPMS to another mode!
