Let me share my pain
We picked up our new XE in mid-March and on August 14th this happened --
The car was parked across from the courthouse on a side street and someone managed to sideswipe it after making the corner. They hit it just hard enough to ripple the sheet metal in addition to leaving a sizable scrape on both doors. Fortunately, my brother in law owns a body shop, however, being family put me low on the priority list. While we were in AZ last week, he made the repairs.
The paint match is perfect and he did his usual fantastic job making it all disappear.
So good to have our XE back looking new again. It was painful seeing it banged up every day for over 2 months. Now, if only I could get my hands on the son-of-a-b that did this...

Similar, but nowhere near so bad happened to me shortly after I took delivery of my Sovereign in late October 2016. A day later we drive it down to Devon to visit a friend. the following morning I came out to find a some sonofabitch had scraped the corner of the rear bumper. And I hadn't owned the car for even 48 hours !! £300 later at a local repair shop and all was well.

I saw the photos here when you first posted but they have disappeared. Presumably you linked to them in offline storage rather than upload to the forum and have moved or deleted the original location?

Pic was probably taken after he squirted the clear prior to sanding and buffing. I have looked at it close and the repair is undetectable. Seems like mine is a shared pain from the replies. My last car - a '10 Cadillac CTS4 was backed into a few months after I acquired it. Caved in the rear passenger door pretty good. Seems my luck has not changed much in the ensuing years.
Pics are hosted on Photobucket - which has certainly had some issues recently. They are there now.
