Boot open/reverse camera replacement loom

Hi, I'm trying to replace the wiring loom on 2011 Jag XF. The loom that provides boot open warning on dash and reversing camera. My current one has a broken wire in the section between the boot lid and boot ( a common failure I believe) I've watched a great video from another member, and know how to perform the procedure, except I cannot disconnect the part of the loom inside the boot???? It doesn't seem to want to come apart. Any suggestions will be really appreciated. Thanks

I don't know if you've seen this video. But if you still had a hard time disconnecting the loom/wiring harness, try this. With both hands on the loom/harness, Push inward the loom/harness, press the release lever then Pull the loom/harness outwards

Hi All, Just to say a great big thank you to those who offered advice on how to solve my problem. Especially the 2 guys who posted videos of how to replace the the wiring loom, their advice was invaluable. I purchased a new loom on ebay, cost £125 which i thought was expensive as the 2 guys in the video suggested they bought theirs for around 60 Australian Dollars and 50 US Dollars. However I managed to replace the old with my new loom, It didn't take long either, about an hour, worst bit was getting under the wing to disconnect as my back ain't that good nowadays. Anyway, it not only solved my boot open problem so i can now lock the car remotely again. For some unknown reason, i now dont have a problem with my Park Brake. I was getting an intermittent warning on the dash saying 'unable to apply park brake' But since fitting my new loom it seems to be working ok again. Once again a big thank you to this forum and members, I love it.

I hope I eventually manage to navigate this site!
