HID headlights upgraded to OEM LED headlights

I have upgraded my headlights to the factory fit LED lights they were a straight swap and all work fine only issue is the dash indicator light flashes fast guess it's because it thinks the bulbs are blown I can get round this with resistors but would like to get the error disabled in the CCF
Does anyone know how I could get this done none of my local dealers are interested in helping

Mr. Kerry,
I'm not sure which Headlights you have upgraded, if you mean you have changed-out the Low Beams, which are HID Bulbs with Ballast, I would wonder why? As tye are really good Lights......I would change them back if you are getting a CanBus problem...If you changed out the High Beams and you are getting this error, you have used the wrong LED kit and need to go back to the seller with your problem.....They have sold you the wrong Kit!

I have replaced none of what you have stated. I have replaced the whole light assembly with the LED version that would come out the factory with should you ordered that spec. I have now solved the canbus issue with some resistors

Ian, The HID Light man!!

Ian,

Since I don't know which Light Assembly you have installed, I would love to see a Photo of them. I'm not aware of an LED Head Light Spec from Jaguar, nothing other than the standard set-up...…Also, if it came from Jaguar, why did you have to put in Resistors? You would think that the Jaguar Engineers would have thought of that already!

It is a factory fit option the cars CCF is told what it has when it leaves the factory. Jaguar don't seem to want to change that.

Please post in the proper Forum, if you want answers for your Model....!

Would you happen to have any advice on placement of such resistors on a 2011 Jaguar XFR (Facelift w/2012 XFRS) Headlamps? From what my mechanic said is that the Headlights are receiving too much power and by default, are not powering on. Now the LED Daytime running lamps are functioning as well as the turn signals.

(ANYONE) Advice or divine knowledge of how I could get this to function w/o re-wiring the whole vehicle with the 2012 Electrical Wire harness would be most appreciated!

Hi Ian, I have also changed the assembly to full led and me too having the turn signal going fast, how and where u actually put in the resistors to fix the problem

Are the LED headlights as bright as your old Bi-Xenon lamps?

doctorpepper 01-13-2020 08:52 AM

Hi both Ian Kerry and SKS, or anyone else. are the headlights now less yellow with the LED upgrade? i'm not so concerned about the light output, from a cosmetic point of view has that ghastly yellow look gone? at the moment my headlights look like they are halogen and not BiXENON.

thanks

The headlights are pure white no yellow or the blue tinge you get with the HID's

wonderful. Don’t suppose you have a before and after pic at night (looking out from inside the car)

did you manage to solve the flashing indicator problem with a resistor or programmed it in?

Googsy 01-17-2020 05:20 PM

You need to fit a resistor each side to positive and negative wires for the indicators . Positive can be found using a phase tester or similar.I think the negative is pin 2 grey and green wire from memory .

That looks really good and very helpful. Don’t suppose you changed your rear indicator bulbs to led too And stuck some resistors on?

Hi

Is your car pre 2018 or post 2018. I’ve been told by a seller of the led headlights that pre 2018 cars need an adapter cable but post 2018 will work ok.
Do you find the led’s much better than the oem xenon’s.

Thanks

Is it possible to "Switch" the DRL and turn signal function via wiring swap? Or through coding? I have not investigated the harness yet, but was hoping maybe the OP or anyone who has done this swap might be able to answer.

I like the thought of amber DRL's on the car (like what is used for signaling) vs the white OEM default. I wouldn't mind trading, or omitting the white setting all together. Amber strip as DRL, Flashing Amber during turns/hazard function
