11.93 1/4 mile XFR

Went to the track last weekend and beat my best 1/4 mile time. With a 1.88 sixty foot, I ran an 11.93@118.65. My best Mph was on my 12.09 run with a 2.0 sixty foot 118.98. I guess you could say 119 mph. The weather was cool so the jag was making good power but had a hard time getting good traction. My best sixty in the past was a 1.81 with a 12.04@116.79 mph. If I would have gotten another 1.81 sixty foot my car would have run 11.8s eyes closed.
Here is a video of my best run:

I can’t show you guys my video, says that my file is to big. That sucks, don’t have this issue when I load up videos on other forums.

Here is the link. This might work.

Nicely done!

Any tips on your launch technique?
I always get too much tire spin then hit the rev limiter which just kills everything!

Welcome to the 11 club!

Traction is my enemy as well otherwise I would be closer to low 11's I think.

Thank you!

I popped along to Santa Pod in the UK a couple of weeks ago to meet up with another XFR-S Sportbrake. I wasn't going to run but my friend talked me into it as it would be great to get some photos of both cars together. There was quite a strong headwind for most of the day (~30mph) so times were in the high 12's although he did manage a 12.1 before I arrived.

In the afternoon his car sprung a small coolant leak from one of the top supercharger hoses rubbing on the belt so we patched it up to get him home and I had a few more runs alone. Amazed that I managed to get an 11.68s @ 118mph. My best time before that was a 12.1 @ 114mph and always felt that a high-11 second was in the car, but never for a moment thought I'd get a 11.68! Over the moon. Car is more or less stock except for a cat back Spires exhaust and Ramair cone air filters.

Sorry, I should have said well done before posting my stuff. It's an awesome feeling when you get everything hooked up perfectly. :)

Really had a hard time to launch the car. My way of launching the car is not to torque to much off the line. Barely give gas off the line, and as soon as it turns green I go into it slowly and go with the feel of traction if I could give more or not. I ordered a set of drag radials from Mickey Thompson over a year ago with the exact dimensions of the stock tires. Summit just cancelled my order because Mickey Thompson always had the tires on back order. Anyways long story short , I don’t think the Mickey Thompson tires are ever going to happen. It is really to bad, because I am sure with a set of drag radials the Jag would be running 11.5s to 11.6s.

Punto Boy , you ran an awesome time with your XFR-S. plus it is a wagon model, never saw one of those here in Canada.. They are probably heavier then the sedan model too. Really cool! Considering you have nothing much done to it , it is really impressive. I know you mentioned the exhaust, but on my car the axle back exhaust didn’t do much apart from having a beautiful sound. You should try to get a tune for the car and see if you could get more out of it.
Great job!

Great job!

They never sold the X250 Sportbrake in North America at all, only 61 XFR-S Sportbrakes were built in total and all are in Europe it seems.

The exhaust is cat back, the UK cars didn't have the X-pipe but the cat back includes it.

WoW, that is one really rare model.
Cool machine!

What a great looking car!
I wanted a Kynite blue XFR but very rare here in the US too.

That ultra blue sure looks close to Kynite blue too.

Great times, and glad you beat your personal best while having a blast! I am aiming for 11's as well, but with my 2010 it will take some extensive work to get there!

Nup, Ultra Blue is not even close to Kyanite, very very different colours.

It wasn’t that bad. You need a eurocharge tune and pulley. I have a Mina axle back exhaust but I think it could be done without.

You have the XFR-S though correct? In 2012 I believe all XFR got the 8 speed transmission with a better torque converter as well. I haven't seen many 6 speed XFR's in the 11's.

Mine is the white 2010 Jaguar XFR that I posted in the video on top at the track. It is a 6 speed.
