18" wheels on 2013 XF 3.0 AWD?

18" wheels on 2013 XF 3.0 AWD?
Can I put 18" wheels on my 2013 XF 3.0 AWD??
Some places say yes, some no.... I want a 2nd set of wheels for snow tires - here in Colorado All Season tires on an AWD work fine the 1st year winter but not after.
Many more tire choices in 18"
Seems there is plenty of room between rim and calipers - thoughts?
Also, if buying new wheels and having TPMS installed - does that mean I can just mount the wheel to the car and all is set?
Thank you.

OEM 18" yes, aftermarket very unlikely. It was very difficult for me to find an aftermarket 19" that would fit. The tightest area is not the caliper but actually the lower-most suspension bolt.
OEM TPMS will auto learn, no programming required.

Tire Rack shows 18" wheels (108 bolt pattern) in offsets ranging from 42 - 50 mm as being compatible with my specific vehicle.
Am I missing something here? Why is ebay stating that the earlier XJ wheels won't work?

The diameter of the brake rotor is usually the reason why a smaller wheel won't fit.

Thank you for the quick reply pab. I fully understand that brake clearance is the critical deciding factor for wheel figment. Tire Rack states that 17" rims won't work - no surprise here.
I am having difficulty understanding why they recommend 18" rims with as little as a 42 mm offset, yet ebay states that the 18" XJ rim with the more generous 49 mm offset won't work.
I would think that the inside diameter of any 18" rim will be equivalent?!? If the Tire Rack aftermarket 18" rims clear the brake components (especially with the lesser offset), how is it that the OE, XJ 18" rims do not?
I really prefer having OE rims to aftermarket parts of unknown quality, particularly considering the rigors of winter driving conditions.

The US '13 brochure shows nine wheel options for the XF, ten counting the XFR and doesn't seem to indicate that the wheels are any different between the AWD vs RWD. I looked them all up for you and they all have the same 49mm offset for the front wheel. And according to the Jaguar parts catalog, the AWD and RWD both use the same 355mm front rotor. So either of the two 18" wheels, the Vela or Lyra are sure to work. I would recommend to either order a set of those from any number of wheel salvage/refurbish vendors on the Internet or otherwise get the specifications on them and order something with the exact same specs. I replaced the 19" Caravela's that came with my '12 Portfolio with a set of refurbished 18" Velas and couldn't be happier.

I checked the specs on the Vela wheel and I think I now understand why those may work on the XF and the previous model XJ Dynamic wheel may not (or at least advertised on ebay as not being compatible). The advantage with the Vela is, although they have the same offset as the 2007 XJ 18" Dynamic rims I was considering, the Vela wheels are 8.5" wide whereas those XJ rims are only 8".
This puts the Dynamic wheels 1/4" (6.4 mm) more inboard, which may not provide sufficient XF caliper clearance, to the back of the wheel centers.
If anyone knows anything to the contrary, please let me know (or the existence of an 8" wide, 49 mm offset XF 3.0 wheel - I think early UK 2.0 did) .

Since I couldn't get confirmation on the previous gen XJ rim fitting my 15 XF, I bought one of these 2004 - 2009 XJ 18 X 8" 'Dynamic' wheel. It fits perfect so I bought 3 more. This allows me to use a little narrower and taller winter tire and still have OE Jaguar strength and quality. Tires & TPMS valve stems on the way.
Feel free to contact me if you are interested in the source for these wheels.

-1 wheels / tires
apologies for resurrecting the old thread but I have this issue now. I want a second set of rims for my ‘14 xf 3.0v6 diesel and a set have come up. They are 8jx18 5x108 et49. Like OP I am concerned that my current wheels are 8.5j. Can I fit 245/45/18s to the second set I’ve specced above?
I bought 245-45/18 Michelin X-ice for the smaller diameter, narrower, (I believe the offset was the same) previous generation XJ rims & couldn't be more pleased. My concern was caliper clearance, but there was more than adequate clearance. I would assume your 2014 diesel uses the same brakes as my 2015 AWD petrol model.
If you still have doubts, purchase just one rim for trial fitment as I did. The Jaguar dealerships were of absolutely no help making the size determination.
I'm 99% confident that you should have no issue.
