2010 Jaguar XF misfire 2,4,6,8
I picked up my first Jaguar about a year ago . 2010 Jaguar XF 5.0 s/c. I have had to do a lot of things on the car including the timing chains twice. After I replaced the timing chain the second time it fixed a lot of issues including restricted performance and it runs much smoother . But once every 4-5 times I start it the car misfires on 2,4,6,8. Again it doesn’t happen every start up just randomly. I took it to my local dealership and they said the timing is off by 4 degrees and one of my VVT is failing. They said it could be a number of things.
Has anyone in these forums had a similar issue , I’m at a point where I need to fix the car or just sell it and take my losses.

Can you post the actual codes?
You mention the dealer said you have a failing VVT but you don't have a VVT code?
What code reader are you musing?
Can you explain why you needed to do the timing chains twice? I have never heard of that before?
With the timing being off 4 degree's are you sure things were assembled correctly? Sounds like it's a tooth off somewhere?
