2010 xf prem w/portfolio

Gents,
I'm new to this forum, but a long time member of Bimmerfest. Had BMW 5ers for the past 10 years; love the car, but ready for a change.
As title suggests, I am looking at a the 2010 XF PREM. It's Pearl Grey with Black interior, 26K mi, 1 owner, Senta 20's and loaded. The only thing it doesn't have is ACC and streaming Bluetooth Audio. I know that didn't come on line with Jag until '12 so no big deal.
The price is $36,900, but she's got some issues; beat up rims from city parking, nice crease on rear bumper from parking, good size scratch on hood (2" near pax side headlight), door dings on front pax fender and a small one on the top of the trunk lid.
Seems cosmetic, but I'm very picky when it comes to my machines. They are also low balling me on my trade in and pulling silly dealer tricks. They did agree to fix the rims and bumper for "no charge", but judging from their math, the charge got put in there.
Should I wait until more '10's start rolling in or just make it happen? Thoughts?

With that amount of minor damage I would run away. I am always wary of cars with lots of minor dings since it implies that the car has not been generally well cared for. My 2010 XF has no body damage or curb rash on the wheels and I have 36K miles on the clock. The Portfolio package should not add much to the price since it is purely aesthetic and does not add much to trade in.

I would look for a better kept example.

If you are as picky as you've stated above, I wouldn't even consider this car. Whether the price is good or not, it's still $37k you'd be spending on a car that seems to have been through a lot for being only 2-3 years old. I can't see myself driving off of the lot with a $37k purchase and the vehicle already looks like it lived a rough life before I've even gotten it home.

Thanks for the quick "run away" replies guys. I'm very surprised neither of you really mentioned price; I'm seeing these cars at $42K at other dealers with similar mileage (2 years old should = 25K mi). These cars should be going (perfect condition) for $36.2K so every single dealer selling them is way high! That being said, all packages add money...even asthetics....20's are about a $1K addition, sunshade $200 and Heated wheel 400. This is a used car so I don't expect perfection, but they need to come down to around $35K for me to stay interested.

On a side note, what does the 4yr/50K warranty really do for you? Let's say the A/C Compressor goes out; who pays for the labor and part. The answer to both should be Jaguar.

Seriously, I want to know how the 2010 warranty works inside of 4 yrs/50K miles. Any info is much appreciated.

Hi Matt

The car really DOES need to be right from Day 1. If it is, then the price is not so important, (although obviously it needs to be reasonable). From your description, the previous owner did not cherish this car, so I would wait for another one to come along, if it was me.

My local Jag dealer has 2011 loaners with 5000 miles on them that look absolutely amazing/new for $39,000.

mattgevo 04-19-2012 03:03 PM

Thanks for the insight guys. I'd love to see those loaners executive....$39K is really low for an '11 XF Premium.

Here you go. Click the link and you will find all the 2011s. It says Land Rover for dealership. It's actually Jag and Land Rover.

I have a guy there so let me know and i can give you his contact info.

As all have stated the car seems overpriced. I have a 2010 Portofolio inmaculate 18000miles 38K. step away and keep looking.
