2013 XF 3.0 SC issues or is this normal?

Hi everyone! Just picked up a 2013 XF 3.0 SC about 3 weeks ago.

Has anyone have problems with their rear window defogger? Seems like on mine it takes longer to clear the rear window defogger usually it shuts off before the window is fully clear and I would need to hit the button to turn it on again.

Another item I noticed is when I shut the car off the motor/car shakes a little when the motor shuts off. Is this normal?

Thanks for any info.

I don't have either of those issues. My rear defogger turns itself on and off and clears the window completely. I have no shaking when turning off the motor.

Air venting in these cars isn't the best despite Britain being a very damp place.

Rear window defogger should stay on for about ten minutes I would estimate, it is on a timer but I've not timed it. The handbook suggests the time period may vary with ambient temperature but doesn't actually say that.

The V6 is a 90 degree V6 with balance shafts under the rear of the crankshaft. All 90 degree V6 engines exhibit some shake especially when first starting or shutting down because of the uneven rotational forces which the rotating balance shafts counteract while the engine is running. Whether you notice the shake as it starts or stops depends to some degree on how sensitive you are. If the transmission is in gear, while the stop start is functioning for example, then the shake on restart is quite noticable as the starter has to drive the torque converter against the stationary transmission. In P or N it doesn't have this extra load.

If it shakes more when in D then I'd say your engine is normal.
