2015 XF Splitter install and grille swap (before/after)
 

Very clean install, I like the Draco wheels in the silver, too....
What is behind the side grilles on the R? I note that the mesh is open, while on my XF Sport they are closed mesh, it bugs me.Are there air ducts to the brakes or just open space in there?
I would wipe that splitter off in half an hour...Even with the parking sensors it would make me nervous.Trashed the one on my Mini 3 times!Oh, well.

The mesh is closed above the chrome piece (which is blacked-out on mine). The mesh is open below it. There are sensors that look like paddles that sit behind it. From what I've read, they are ambient temperature sensors so they actually serve a purpose believe it or not.

The paddles are the TPMS receivers. They pick up the signal from the transmitters in each wheel.

Is the car an actual XFR? If it is their should be an auxiliary cooling radiator behind each intake. I think the earlier XFR and Supercharged models had one radiator but the later models (at least on my 2012) have one on each side. Was this bumper/fender ever intended to be fitted to the XFR model? If so, the smaller intakes might be limiting the air to the auxiliary radiators.

That makes sense...More power, more heat! It would be nice to see the actual set up of those auxiliary radiators...I've yet to see a supercharged motor that didn't want better intercooling. Went round and round with that on my Mini for many years.

For reference, the auxiliary radiator(s) are part of the engine cooling system, the supercharger intercooler circuit shares coolant from this main cooling system via an expansion hose, but it's a separate system, and the intercooling (ie cooling of the charged air) is only done by the front intercooler radiator. See the docs attached for more info.

The front intercooler radiator is not particularly beefy, and I've replaced mine with a larger one from Allisport. All the jags with the 5.0 V8 SC engine (XF,XJ,XK,F-Type) share the same intercooler radiator with the same part number, so any radiator upgrade for an F-Type will also fit a Jaguar XF.

But I have been researching this on my 2014 XJR. It has a passenger side AUX radiator. But looking in the shop manual it appears Jaguar installed these on the left and right sides depending on what market the car was sold in.
Maybe some hot places like the middle east might have gotten AUX radiators on both sides?
I was considering trying to add the AUX radiator to my drivers side but have never seen anyone talking about this?
It also appears the radiators and ducts are the same between the XF and XJ but again not sure?

Sorry, I should've shared this wider :( I'm not sure how the Allisport differs (if at all!) from the Paramount Performance radiator, but for what it's worth I've heard good things about both companies.

Maybe - documentation I've read suggests it may also be down to year of manufacturer. The docs I attached in my post above are for 2010 models (as that's what my car is). I'll check what setup my car has when I get home as I have a feeling I have both aux radiators but I honestly can't remember off hand.

The ducts change depending on the bumper fitted, but the radiators (which are the important part) share the same part numbers on the XF and the XJ - C2D23154 for the RH radiator and C2D23155 for the LH radiator. (XFs prior to VIN -S32010 have earlier part numbers but the physical part is likely to be exactly the same).

The only other thing I'd say is that there's nothing really that special about these radiators. Sure, they're sized to fit the vent, and they have angled inlet/outlet pipes etc, but you could absolutely fit a (thicker) universal one with minimal fabrication work I reckon.

On at least the earlier "pre-facelift" XFR, so from 2009 to early 2012, there were two set-ups for the auxiliary radiator(s). This may or may not have been the same on the later "facelift" XFR from 2012 to 2105, I don't know.
The "normal" set-up was with only one of them, behind the lower RHS grille vent, with a plastic blanking panel behind the LHS vent (I still have that piece of plastic), and the "hot climate" set-up was with two auxiliary radiators, one behind each vent.
My Oz spec 2010 XFR had only the single auxiliary radiator even though it sometimes gets to 110 F where I live, I have no idea why my part of Oz was not considered "hot climate", and to the best of my knowledge "hot climate" was restricted to the Middle East (Saudi Arabia etc).
My copy of the 2010-2011 XFR Workshop Manual shows both set-ups.

Huh, interesting. I've just checked and my 2010 Jaguar XF 5.0 Supercharged has both auxiliary radiators fitted. Not sure why - it spent the first 5 years of it's life in Houston TX where it doesn't really get higher than the high 90s, so I'm surprised they thought it was required. On the other hand, that engine bay gets hot so I'm not sad I have it.

If I had the blanking plate I'd consider using the space for additional supercharger intercooling over engine cooling, but I guess it depends on priorities :)

The maxton site doesn't show a photo of the splitter installed on this model, it just shows the sportbreak without it. I assume the front of the sedan is the same as the sportbreak.
