Very interesting deal on 2011 leftover S/C
Just stopped at my dealer to have a look at the new 2012s, out of curiousity. Well, I have 2010 Premium with 19 months still left on my lease. We started talking, and they are willing to take my car now, put me in a new 2011 S/C for:
$2000 total up front , which includes in it also all bank and other fees and first month lease payment.
Monthly lease payment $990, 39 month lease, 14,000 mi/year allowance.
Other things to consider:
*I was planning on a S/C as my next car anyway (assuming no issues will pop up with my 2010 till then)
*I am paying now $870/month
*My car has close to 20,000 mi. and did not need to have brakes done yet - I would save that expense
*Second service at 2 years/30,000mi - I would save that expense
*I have repairable scuffs/damage on all 4 wheels - would need to pay for that eventually?
*I have 3 small but visible body dings/scrapes - would need to pay for that eventually?
*2011 is only year with all mainenance included, also brake pads/rotors, etc.
Should I go for it????

You sound like you already made up your mind to do it.
It honestly sounds pretty decent.
Its $120 more a month, and $2000 down... on a lease 2k would be inception give or take...
When you went and got your car - did you inquire on a payment for the S/C model in 2010?
If so what was it?
$120 month more for a car that is $11k more?
Give or take its $18-25 for every $1000 on a lease (depending on the car).
Also your 2010 will likely need tires at somepoint, and also service soon and brakes soon...
That is free on 2011.
I would jump on it.
But before I jump - I make 1 final effort - say hey - My car is $870/mo now, and you want $990... make it an even $100 more a month and we got a deal, heres my credit card.... give it a shot if you decide and see what they say.
I would do it though if you are ok with the $990 mo payment.

Jackals - to answer your question: When I got my 2010 Premium at $870/month, a S/C would have been $1050/month.
Yes, I can walk away from the 2010 before she will need the brake job, and next service and save that money for sure ($700-900 or so?).
As far as tires - I'd say it's a wash, because I would just delay changing them with a new S/C, but the S/C tires are more expensive to replace..(I don't think Tires are included in the 2011 free maintenance deal).
But, I can also walk away from repairing the already 4 scratched rims and 3 small but visible body dents it has ($800-1000 estimate for both ).
