Just curious, but it is safe to put water in the coolant tank if it is low? I assume prefered to be distilled and cannot be freezing temperature climate?
Good to know just in case I get a leaking water pump or small leak sometime.
I did that to get home one night after my water pump started to leak. Puleld over to let it coo for 20 minutes and nursed it to a grocer store where I got aqaufina (distilled) water bottles
Filled the tank, stopped every 20 minutes or so to check, leaking real slow.
Replaced the pump and coolant never thought for second about the 32 oz of water I added after adding 2 gal of new AF

Smart move, total waste of time to risk it on ^^^^
Parts arriving tomorrow, so time to get on with it.
Well, I can see the rear crossover, but it looks OK. I was assuming taht this would be cracked wide open given the coolant peeing out of the back RHS of the motor.
Perhaps I will find something when I get it out (if!) but if I don't, anyone got any ideas where the leak might be coming from?
BTW, the intake valves aren't terrible, but I'll clean them as best I can.
Finally got that rear crossover pipe out today, my arms and hands are cut to pieces, probably the single worst job I've ever had to do around a car engine.
I was hoping to find a big crack in it, since the RHS rear of the motor is where the coolant was peeing out from but all I found was this mangled o-ring. I just don't see how an 0-ring can be perfect for 49k miles then get mangled so I have to believe this happened getting the pipe out. Hope I'm wrong because I also don't know how I possibly could've mangled it like this?
I have the two throttle body water pipes coming this week since I missed them on first go, but now I see there are two short rubber heater pipes - maybe 4-5" long connecting to steel tubes at the front of the car and going into the firewall......I don't have these either! (edit: C2Z11054) So far I ahve purchased 15 pipes and hoses and that still ain't all!
Assuming you mean me hen, at 49k mi they are going to tell me to take a hike!
I got all of the front end pipes/hoses in today, and it was a beeeeaachhhh to do. Those hoses down by the front wheel were brutal. What really ticks me off though is I keep finding hoses I don't have! Not only that, I cannot find them on the Jaguar parts diagrams - which really suck by the way. This time it's about a 15" long hose with quick detach fittings both ends which goes between a steel heater pipe and the rear crossover pipe. I have searched high and low on the jaguar parts sites and cannot even find it on any diagram. So that's TWO hoses I am not replacing, C2Z11054 and this one for which I can't even find a part number. Not happy as I was intending to change everything, but I am not making a third order and another week of waiting for the parts.
Fed Ex finally delivered my second round of hoses, but I notice that the two throttle body hoses do not have clamps on the end that fixes to the throttle body. I also recall those clamps on the throttle body being unique. Anyone have experience in removing them and re-using? I haven't been out to look at them yet, maybe it's easier than it looked before but........
Edit: OK, it's not so bad. A scriber inserted in the second from last "ruffle" then prised up releases the clip. SO, I ASSUME if JAg doesn't ship the two throttle body pipes with new clips that I can reuse the old ones. All the other hoses are complete with new clips and these two are on one end only.
I think they are considered to be a consumable item so they aren't included. I did think about reusing the old ones but didn't want to take the chance.

A quick tip! I don't know if the NA has a symposer fitted but on the supercharged cars, the connector that goes to the rear crossover temp sensor is the same type that is used on the symposer solenoid so it's possible to mix them up.

I don't remember seeing a similar connector back there. Fingers crossed!
