Default Dang coolant leaks

About 4 months ago I did a bunch of little coolant hoses and the throttle body coolant hose. ($$$) buried in the motor.

Now.... Water pump let go. Gonna do upper and lower radiator hose while I'm in there. Also one of the liquid intercooler hoses is seeping.
Man, it's getting expensive but better than a new car payment for years.

That's all. Vent off

My friend's XFR is losing coolant slowly from nowhere - it could be the pump and/or any of the hoses. There are countless number of hoses in the parts diagram and it would help to target those which are the most vulnerable than to replace them all. Would help me to fix his if you have the parts numbers for the hoses that you needed replaced. Many thanks.

I'll look and see.
i am having a shop do it. It's my DD and between work and kids I don't have the time to do myself.
Jaguar emailed the shop a hose diagram so they could order the correct hoses.

Hey, if you can get a hold of the hose diagram and post it or send it to me that would be fantastic. I've tried using the ones from on-line retailers but they aren't great with the details and my Jaguar parts department is not always helpful. I have a hose that has a slight weep and would like to change it out but determining the exact hose is challenging.

That's why I did it all at once - every hose, plastic union, header tank, and water pump. No point chasing a new leak every month.

That's much appreciated and a big help. I've been trying to find part numbers for items # 9 and #10 but all the websites I've looked at (Parts.com, Jaguar Reno, etc.) never seem to show those two hoses. If anyone knows the numbers please chime in.

Thanks again Qvhk.

lol...that's not even all of the parts that transport coolant. There are several molded plastic pieces not included in those diagrams as well as the water pump tube that connects to the oil cooler. Those molded plastic parts are more likely to go before the rubber hoses give out, at least in my experience.

According to JEPC:
#9 is Inlet Hose C2Z14129 (to VIN S61361), or C2Z25541 (from VIN S61362);
#10 is Outlet Hose C2Z14128 (to VIN S61361), or C2Z25540 (from VIN S61362).
Apart from these two, which are the most vulnerable hoses that need replacing?
Car is 2010 XFR 5.0 V8 Supercharged; mileage 8,0000km.

Thanks for the part numbers. I can't comment on what hoses are best replaced early as I've had no issues with my 2012 apart from hose #10 which has a tiny weep at the plastic "T" piece. I've tried disassembling and re-assembling but can't cure it. Looks like it's time for a new hose assembly.

TXFirebalde: I just wanted to know which hoses fellas have commonly found needing to replace.

Cherry_560sel: Even EPC shows just two of the diagrams on the engine cooling system. There is another diagram on the water pump/rails, as follows:

So if there are other hoses not covered in any of the three diagrams above, but are possible suspects of coolant loss, please let us know. Certainly replacing all hoses is a desirable option for the peace of mind; reality is some are very difficult to reach and are better left alone unless they are or will soon likely become the causes of coolant loss.

Numbers 8, 9 and 10 in the above diagram are what have given me problems on my 2015. However, on my 2011, parts 8 and 10 were made of aluminium and had no issues at all. If you have the plastic molded versions then these will be your likely culprits for leaks. THe issue is that engine heat destroys these parts very quickly, especially if you are in hot climates like I am and you tend to get engine temps higher through aggressive tuning. I have gone through three of the number 8 piece (coolant crossover pipe) and one of the number 10 piece. Number 10 requires removal of the water pump, intake, and supercharger.

From the diagram you posted originally, the top section with number 2 and 3. The heater core coolant crossovers. Those are located at the back of the engine...also requires the removal of intake and supercharger. On the V6 ....not likely to see problems because the last two cylinders are blanked and heat is not likely to cause premature deterioration, but they will be likely sources of coolant loss for the V8's.

also....you should replace the oil cooler connection tube from the water pump to the oil cooler.
