Doing your own oil changes on 5 Liter engines

lets continue the fun by debating doing the oil change yourself vs taking it to the dealer for the other "stuff" they include...that in my case takes it up to $690. This includes the seat filters! Now some of the guys at work suggest that I of all people should have the seat filters replaced ASAP....but I think I can probably do without this, check the pollen filter and call it a day.
What am I missing? (I have all the equipment etc and have built cars ground up in my garage so I have the skills. Just concerned about the higher end vehicle and its sensitivities)

The front seats have fans mounted underneath that are activated once you turn on heated/cooled seats. The filters are attached to the little fans to keep them clean and possibly letting anthing damage the fans themselves.
The seat filters you guys can check yourselfs. It's very easy to do and i think they only cost few dollars, if they need to be replaced.

So was the DIY adventure a success? Where is the oil filter on the XF located? While the design of the engine is clean, there sure are a lot of shrouds.....thanks Jaguar engineers for tacking on 1.0 hours of extra book time for removal of the plastic bits in the bay.

There is a drain plug on the 5 liter. The problem is, is that it doesn't drain out all the old oil. For XF owners, I would suggest you not remove the engine cover all the way. It's a you know what to install once removed. Lift it up in the front and prop a can or screwdriver under it and change the filter. For XJ owners, you can reset the light by purchasing a Service Reset Dongle online. It's $200.00+, but you don't have to go to the dealer to reset you light. Plus you can update it for newer models online

For those that keep at it with the no drain plug on the 5.0L here is a diagram of the engine. It seems there are two plugs but I'm not sure.
Why is it that oil is not compleatly drained? I have serious doubts about this the plug is down below no reason for it to not drain all the oil.

Here's what I want you to do when you change your oil. Drain the oil into a container that can hold up to a least 8 quarts. Tell me how much you get out. Then I will tell you how much is taken out but a vacuum device that I use on a regular basis, because I'm a Jag Tech. Then we will compare and see what the difference is. I'm not trying to prove you wrong by any means. I would like to know myself. I'm not going to try it for myself, so that's why I want you to try.

Well, I don't want to sound stubborn on a point you could be right about. I will drain the pan first and measure exactly how much I get. I will then hook up a vacuum system and drain the rest if I get less than the expected 8qrtz. Can you or another tech advise how long a vacuum probe you need or do you use a flexible hose. I have a generic system I use on auto transmissions.

update on My Oil Change
Hey Folks, I did my oil change today. I actually cheated a bit, this is what I did.
I got my self a portable vacuum pump and made a vacuum flask out of a glass coffea container. Hooked the tubing to the engine vacuum pipe and sucked away. So far I have gotten 6 liters out before the hose did not pull any more oil out. I would appreciate if any of the Techs here can advice if I need to pull the bottom drain plug to retreive the remaing two liters of oil or if the vacuum pipe goes all the way to the bottom. I will post pics of all the process.
