FPR replacement procedure
Hi all, I'm wondering if there is a special procedure needed to be done to change out the FPR on the 09xf 4.2l non supercharged model. I've been having numerous issues with my vehicle as of late specifically the etc sensor but I've also had the low/high fuel rail pressure codes thrown as well. I was away out of town working for a month came back went to fire it up and instantly got the p0300 followed my missfires on 6 cylinders and coolant temperature out of range code. Now I don't think my issuses are coincidence but I do think I have two seperate monsters happening at once. Any advice on how to change this would be appreciated.
Changed it on my 4.2L SC engine in my old S-Type R. Not much to it? Just remove and replace. Has a vacuum hose and an electrical connector. Now I did have a unique problem with the first FPR I got. It was manufactured backwards. So it would not bolt to the manifold correctly. This was another part that was used on the Lincoln LS so we had different places to get it. Not sure now as years have gone by.
Do you have a part number?
Are you doing the work?

The PCV will give different failure codes compared to the FPR?
Can you (again) post the actual codes you have. Then erase them and see what comes back.
In case you did not know the FPR is directly behind that damaged hose in your picture. It has the right angle rubber vacuum elbow attached.
Have you swapped that out yet?

Good morning sir! Here are the codes i was facing, misfires were definitely from that pcv hose being cracked as they coincidence all on the same bank, for my low fuel pressure I did process of elimination by cutting fuel rail and putting gauge in between to monitor pressure, all of them seem to coincidence with FPR and etc sensor. I have replaced both and car seems to be running quite smooth again. I did make another post though concerning fuel trims as after driving and getting engine up to temp I noticed at idle at the end of my journey, ltft bank one was sitting at 8.4 percent roughly and bank 2 at 9.2 now I understand that there is a plus minus window for trims and when driving they seem to hover around zero.
Getting it fixed!
Sounds like it's just about finished too.
Don't forget to clear all those old codes. Sometimes it takes a bit of driving before things settle down.
Can you post a picture of how you fixed the PCV hose?

had to order one from jag dealership, the one they sent me is mu h better quality then the factory original but it could also be the source of my vacuum leak again as I'm seeing pretty high ltft at idles.
