Intermittent Blinker/Indicator Issue
Hey all, I drive a 2015 Jaguar XF Supercharged 5.0. For the past couple of months, I have been plagued with an annoying issue: My blinkers only work about 50% of the time. Sometimes they work on start, sometimes not, sometimes they'll stop working a couple miles in, sometimes not, etc. As far as I can tell, it is completely unpredictable when they will work or not. I've had multiple day stretches with them one way, and I've had switch back and forth 3 times in a 20 minute drive. Nothing seems to have any influence on them.
The hazards still work perfectly, and when the blinkers do work, they work perfectly. When they don't work, they don't work at all. No fault lights. The car has no other issues that I'm aware of.
I've replaced the indicator stalk, checked the fuses in the fuse box in the passenger footwell, and looked at connections from the stalk to the harness, and the plug in the top left corner of the passenger footwell fuse box (where some have noted that the wiper fluid pump can leak and cause corrosion) and been unable to find any signs of damage. I also inspected the center panel with the hazard button.
Hoping somebody here has some advice or some tests I could run. I am at a dead end, and am a little frustrated - I don't identify as a BMW driver.

Where you got the stalk you changed? Used one? - Seller might had same issue and past on the faulty stalk? With diagnostic tool you should see the status of switches, including blinkers stalk.
What diagnostic tool would do that, just a basic obd2 or something more specific to Jaguar?
Thank you
It was a used stalk. I suppose it is possible that both stalks have the same issue, I just think its unlikely given that all of the stalk's other functions (headlight control, brights, and switching between mpg/odometer/range) worked on both.

The basic diag tools in most cases don´t have this function, but better ones do. And natrally factory SDD tool have it.
Some vehicles have inbuild hidden menu to test dash leds, dials and switches.

Updating for any future travelers. I went for several months with intermittent blinkers, just accepting my fate. Then one day the car had a stroke, and long story short I had to get the Body Control Module (the one in the passenger footwell) repaired and reprogrammed. That ended up fixing the blinker issue as well.
Thanks for reporting back as most of the time it is the stalk as Vasara pointed out above. I can take them apart and clean and lube them but have stopped doing that as it only prolongs the problem and eventually I had to get a new turn signal stalk anyway.
Did it set a code for the BCM?
