Exclamation Jaguar 2011 XF transmission faulty

Hi, I have a 2011 XF 3.0 L petrol. 21000kms. Today as I was accelerating the engine revved up ,with the rpm touching 7k then a sign flashed "transmission failure "( it went away after a couple of minutes) but it was replaced by the check engine light. I tried switching the car off and on but the check engine light persists. The car is driving fine, I even used the flappy pedals for the gear shifts and shifting seems to have no problems. any insights? I am a new user here.

Get the codes read and see what comes up

Might just be a random glitch, might be something more serious.

If I were you I'd get a cheap handheld scanner and read the codes yourself. Then clear the check engine light and make note of the codes.

If the issue reappears then take it in to get looked at

Hello,
We have a Client's XFR done just over 20000 Miles and the Cluster shows Transmission Fault.
When the vehicle is cold, it functions absolutely fine. After driving a few miles (15-20 miles) the transmission fault shows up.
The dealership has requested the client to change the entire Transmission. He is not happy with that and has requested us to look into the matter.
Any advice/suggestions on what I should be looking at?

You're going to try to fix it, and you don't have a proper scanner to get the codes?

Good luck to that poor client.
