Default Jaguar vs Land Rover Parts Prices

Can anyone explain what's going on here, because I'm at a bit of a loss - either that or I've just stumbled upon a secret that everyone's been keeping from me.

I'm going to use http://www.parts.com as an example for this, as the prices seem to be reasonably comparable to most other online OEM Jag parts sites.

So, let's choose two cars here, my 2010 Jaguar XF 5.0 Superchargd:

... and a 2010 Range Rover Sport 5.0 Supercharged.

I think we can agree, barring some obvious differences such as oil sump, these vehicles share the same engine.

But look at what happens when I try to buy Valve Stem Oil Seals (which are actually built into the spring seats) for the XF:

(Here's a link to them). $41.58 each? That's kind of pricey, but then I guess these are high-end vehicles and they figure people can foot the cost. It's also not just a parts.com pricing mistake, because that price is largely replicated if you search Google for them by part number.

Let's compare that to the Range Rover Sport:

(here's the link for that one)

It's not just that one part as an anomaly either.

Check out the frankly ludicrous price of an upper timing cover (of which there are two, obviously) for the XF:

(link)

and the Range Rover:

(Link)

That's almost 1/10th of the price FFS.

Not all parts prices are very different but there's a number of key parts where the prices are significantly cheaper if you order the LR equivalent. .......but it's the same engine?

So what's going on? I must be missing something here, because it really shouldn't be that easy.

Yep, as far as I know it's the exact same engine, Cambo should be able to confirm what if any parts are different.

And just FYI I believe JLR parts from parts.com are actually fulfilled by Jaguar San Juan....

It's not uncommon for Jaguar parts to (also) carry a Land Rover part number.
