Default Rotor scoring at 1k?

I was out polishing and waxing the SC yesterday when my neighbor stopped by and noticed my rotors. He thinks that they are starting to score (all fours). I did a forum search and found one instance where a member mentions that XF have problems with rotors scoring.

Does anyone have this problem or is there a know problem with the XF or other Jags?

I attached photos of the front rotors and one of the car. They have a sepia tone as the phone camera setting was not set correctly. I don't know if you can see as it is very minor. I showed it to someone else who has car experience and they thought it was not significant.

I'd agree. Great looking car, I like the sepia effect.

I'll keep an eye on it and have the dealer look at it at some point. Thanks for the comments on the car. I only was able to clay bar, and then polished, sealed and waxed the hood, top and trunk before I ran out of daylight. Rained this morning and rain slides off in a nice pattern now.

Looks well within the range of normal to me.

The pics show what seems to be deep rust pitting on the disc. Do you only use the car ocasionally ? If the car has only done 1000 miles, this could indicate it has been stored badly before sale. The rust debris can start the scoring. I would have thought the discs should be like new at that sort of mileage.

However, it is very difficult to assess something on a picture alone.

The car was a 2011, it had rust in the dealers on line photos. My dealer and others told me it was superficial and in fact disappeared when driven. I had just washed it the day before the photo and the car was driven less than 20 miles the evening before photo was
taken.

Hard to tell about the depth fo the striations but it looks more like rust and/or pad material deposits to me. Have never seen rotors score so evenly across their surface regardless of the miles they had on them. The fact that it went away with normal driving suggests its just rust which is very common on brake rotors that have gotten wet and then dried without being used.
