Default How to detect vacuum leaks on 5.0 SC

Hello i need help on this i have a 2012 xfr and im hearing a loud hissing sound and a whine coming from the engine sound like the passenger side. I replace the tube that runs from the throttle body to the passenger side of the valve cover i also replaced both of the pcv valves and im still get the loud hissing sound the car has 94k miles. I also took it to a shop they did a smoke test and they said it was the hose i replaced but its not its a hose i got from jaguar. I also move it but it does not change the sound of the vacumm leak im gonna try to add a video so you guys can hear it its a link to youtube also i had a code p0171 lean on bank 1 but after i replaced the pcvs it has not come back

Well ...
in the past I used to use a can of starter fluid to locate leaks (do they even sell that stuff now a-days?).
With the engine idling I would spray the fluid towards where I though the leak might be.
If the RPM of the engine didn't change, I hadn't found the spot.
If the engine raced, I had it.

You'd think that old shade-tree trick might still work, even with an intake system as complex as a supercharged Jaguar.
Good luck, and let us know what you do.

A small hose attached to the rear of the upper left intake manifold was missing. Part number is XR853367,
pipe INLET MANIFOLD upper left. This fits at the rear of the upper manifold. The hose on the left (looking from the
rear) fits onto the FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR - however - the hose on the right has (apparently) nothing to
attach to? Is there a vacuum hose missing completely ?

Any assistance would be gratefully received.

Many thanks

Stuart

That does not look like the SC 5.0L engine?
Does the 5.0L have IMT?

It is a V6 3.0 litre Petrol (gasoline) engine. Similar to the old V6 Ford 3.0 litres many of the parts are
the same.

The OP said he had a 2012 XFR - what the hell hell are you talking about? Those pictures don't look like anything I've seen around the 5.0 SC engine, and I've been around it for a while.
