Jagular......you confuse me.....why is the MPGs lower but the life of the tire actually longer than my last set of tires.??

Can't answer that. Tire technology is a black art. At the moment, and this is often the case, Michelin are the top tire available.

Rolling resistance and tread wear rates have to be considered with all the other desirable attributes. The end result is a compromise chosen by the tire engineers.
