Hello, my name is Mike and I recently acquired a 2015 XFR-S in Stratus Grey with 37k miles after owning a 2016 F-Type S. The F was fun but the XFR-S is on another level! The previous owner claims that there aren’t many in the US in this color with this much CF as it’s only lacking the CF engine cover. The front lower splitters on both sides have been replaced since the photo below and there is slight damage on a couple of the wheels. Nothing that can’t be corrected though. I have plans to do a full paint correction and ceramic coat to clean up some of the surface imperfections. I’ve also considered looking for aftermarket wheels if I don’t repair the damaged Varunas. Looking forward to great conversations and info!
P.S. can anyone on here decode the VIN to tell me what number it is out of the 200 made in 2015? The curiosity is killing me haha.
Welcome - first US Grey one I have seen as well! Just got my R-S in July and am learning a lot about it and the jags in general, so far this has been a great community to be a part of.
I can’t find anything concrete on how many were produced each year and in what color. I hear 100/year, 200 for ‘13-‘15 total, 200 per year. Every owner seems to have their own interpretation of the total count based on an article or another’s opinion. We need a registry or someone from Jag to set it straight. 😂
Either way you just never see them so it’s a great car to have of you like driving something unique. They really are animals.
I’ve started recording vins when they come up for sale or online, and hopefully I’ll start to get a list going over the years that gets more clarity on years and colors.
Enjoy sir!!! I've had my 2008 XF ceramic coated and all the interior detailed and protected as well. You'll be really impressed I'm sure
Graeme Immediately after receiving a ceramic paint protection coating Rear detail post ceramic coating treatment The attention to detail for heavy detail clean and coating was first rate.
Thanks. I'm azed how many people admire the car or take a second look. Says a lot about the design obviously but also that extra shine makes a huge difference. The ceramic coating makes the car a dream to clean and keep clean. I've invested in good micro fibre towels and drying mats to avoid any swirling to the paintwork and in the 12 months since its been coated I've done a maintenance detail myself using the ceramic coating supplier's "maintenance" product which is just a simple wipe over while the car is wet and a soft buff off. Again easy and quick.
