secondary air fault
Happy Father's Day guys.....hey, on this 2009 XF which some of you know has been behaving strangely for a bit.....newest issue that just popped up is 0411 which shows as secondary air pump insufficient? .....I checked the fuse it is ok. I did not pull the relay for fear of creating some unforeseen nightmare as occurred recently when I changed the car battery...so......I decided to clear the code and cross fingers. The moment the code cleared, the air pump kicked on and was noticeably audible, sounding kind of like a radiator fan, but contrary to posts I have seen that this fan is only supposed to kick on momentarily at start up, it remains on even after driving the car around the block. What's up? Is it supposed to run continuously? Is it harmful for it to run? I'm kind of guessing the relay might be bad and sending continuous run signal?

I had that code before, turned out to be a broken vacuum hose.
The hose attaches to the relay looking thing in the picture (relay on the right, blower on the left) and runs to the blower. You will have to remove the drivers headlight to get to it, but it was easy to change.
Hope this is the same issue for you, its a very easy fix if so.

Greetings,
Sorry for reupping such an old thread but it's pertinent to my question today.
I have a P0411 code that just appeared.
There appear to be '2' Secondary Air Injection Pump Hoses.
Between C2Z4526 and C2Z4527, which one is it?
(I've yet to take anything apart or start troubleshooting, I look to do so over the weekend. Would love to have all parts readily available when doing the work or at least know where to start looking first)

yeah, I get where you're coming from but its always best to verify/check before buying parts that way you arent sending parts back and waiting for $$$ to hit that checking account. Just because they had this problem doesn't mean it'll be the same part you're having problems with. plus you also stated " Would love to have all parts readily available when doing the work"
