Sunroof noise and headliner movement
Hello, this is for a 2011 (MY2010) 5.0 n/a.
Recently, I've been noticing a noise from the sunroof when the glass is closed but the shade is open. I've already read through quite a few threads about it on this forum.
When I went to clean the seal, I noticed the glass had dropped very recently at the front right corner. I adjusted the glass level using the four screws behind the concertina blinds on the short sides of the sunroof. However, if I push up on the glass panel, I can quite easily move the whole glass panel up and down by several millimetres. I suspect that the sunroof mechanism retaining screws have loosened. It seems to be a known fault. I can also move the headliner up by pushing with very little effort, at both the front and rear of the sunroof opening. When I push the headliner at the rear of the sunroof, there's a sound of something metallic knocking into another metallic object. I suspect I will have to replace the headliner clips, too.
I plan to remove the headliner and rectify the problem. Here's my question. The threads I've read here, including some TSBs mention 4 front clips and 2 rear clips (or the other way around, I can't recall exactly as I'm writing) and a foam block with a part number that says it's a radiator seal, but my parts diagrams show 3 front clips and 3 rear clips. I'm looking for experienced advice: what should I order the 3 front and 3 rear clips, or the 2 and 4 plus foam blocks?
Thanks ... I'm hoping to order the parts asap and fix it quickly.

I was able to just pull the headliner down and get a small socket wrench in there to tighten the nuts. Only one of the clips broke and just jammed some foam rubber up in there to keep it from rattling. The headliner is stiff and won't go anywhere without the clips
Thanks. I’ve ordered 6 clips just in case I break them.
A few hours work for me. The headliner only needs to be dropped up to the B pillar. It doesn’t need to be completely removed. One of the eight bolts that secure the sunroof mechanism to the roof had dropped out and was sitting on the headliner. All the other bolts were not snug. So, each bolt out, loctite and torque to spec. Replace the clips around the sunroof opening. Reset glass panel height. Lubricate the seal. All good.
Good work I think one of the reasons the prior seller traded in the car I bought was becaues of this, I figured it out and told the dealer to fix it, they did not want to so knockc 1500 off the car ( I looked on the forums and took the gamble) 30 minutes after I bought the car was all set.
