Weird XF SC instance when putting in "D"
Hey guys,
So after taking the 09 XF SC to the post office, I got back into my car, started her up and put the dial into "D".
When I pushed the pedal to accelerate, the "D" started flashing. The car revved and didn't move.
So I made sure the dial was in "D" which it was. Put it back in park, to then put back into "D" and the car did the same. No engine lights, no chimes, no warnings in the display. I turned it off, waited for the lcd screen to go off and started it up and it drove perfectly, no engine/trans lights at all. Drove rest of the day going into stores, car being on/off with no more trouble.
Happened to me once a month ago. No leaks under the car.
Just wondering if you guys had this happen to you?

It's a shifter fault. Most were replaced under warranty. The first version had cold solder joints causing faults. Eventually they won't shift out of park and you'll be stuck somewhere. Sometimes getting out of the car, locking it, and going back in fixes it. Mine was replaced with the updated version after it happened to me and it never had it happen again.
