Where do you keep your loose change?

I realize this may seem like a silly detail to some, but it's the little things...
I'm new to Jaguar and specifically my '09 XF Supercharged.
Part of the morning routine for my wife and I is to swing through the local Starbucks and grab a cup of coffee for our commute into our office. In the last car, I had a conveniently located retractable ashtray that I used to stash a few dollar bills as well as the odd loose change that is returned for our coffee.
In the XF, I am at a total loss where to place my coffee money in an easy to access place. I hate keeping change in my clothes pockets, so that's out. I thought of the large front cup holder, but it seems too deep and large to conveniently peer in and fish change from it. It also has become the defacto containment area for my wife's phone and random lip gloss, so that's out too. In the interim, I've placed one of my sunglass cases in the lower door pocket for the time being just to keep it consolidated, but surely there is a better place to keep change? Am I overlooking a concealed drawer or compartment somewhere? Where do you keep your change? This may force me to pay with plastic I suppose...
(Thanks!)

I use the dual cup holders in the front to store change

I use a card for nearly everything so change isn't around much. I guess my coat breast pocket is my change holder on rare occasions. :) I use the larger cup holder (first large bin closest to dash) to hold my phone and random items I guess (no ash tray on mine).

Thanks! Just wanted to make sure I wasn't overlooking a "hidden" compartmet or tray of some sort.

Yeah, there's not a great place to keep change in the car unfortunately. I have mine in the front compartment where the accessory plug is.

You might look at something like this to throw in the cup holder or armrest console:

Go to the convenance store and get a little can of eclipse gum, eat gum, use cup to store change in the center console.

I'm digging the coin holder insert. And I am laughing about the gum cup! I just tried a Mentos gum cup and it was too tall for the console to close. May try the other brand in the interim! :icon_toast:

LOL - I guess the the lack of a compartment may cause a "change" of heart about the Jaguar... Next up: where to store the ice scraper.

SugarChev 01-30-2014 03:26 PM

Ha! Did the instructions from 10 XF Premium really include "eat gum"? Good thing he mentioned that step, cuz for sure I would have tried to stack my change on top of the gum! Lol

LOL, yes I did.

Sorry, that comes from years of writing instructions for low IQ Security Guards.

Loose change..

I keep my $100s in the center console but the $50s and $20s I stuff into the glovebox. :icon_dance-cpatch:

I found a mesh tray that fits perfectly in the center console. It wedges between the console walls and stays up by pressure fit. But, it's not too loose or too snug. It's like it was made for the XF center console. It's the "Bell Automotive Premium Dash Caddy" and you can find it at quite a few auto parts stores or online. It's been a lifesaver. See attached pix...

I'm really liking the tray idea! Thanks for taking the time to take a picture of it!
