XF Portfolio Will not START after rear brake job

2012 XF Portfolio will not start. Battery was dead- recharged and tried to jump it with another car. Confirmed with battery tester that the battery is 100% and less than a few months old. There is still no tension in the brakes so I need to bleed it some more. I do have 2 key fobs that were giving m e trouble but they worked after inserting in the slot. Its either the brake wont depress, keys became unprogrammed or ... Any advice please

Not an uncommon problem on the XF once the battery loses charge.
Try really standing on the brake pedal as you press the start button.
And I mean give it everything you have, try to push it through the firewall!

Does it say 'press brake to start' on the info display next to speedo? Or 'smartkey not found'? Or something else? Assuming the former I'm with oz - your brake pedal is too soft as not yet bled it and you can't push the pedal hard enough to trigger the brake pressure sensor. Bleed it before you try and start it?
