Default XFR 2010 e-diff error and engine shuts off when put on gear

My 2010 XFR started giving a problem with the e-diff error message. This was followed by issues on start up: low revving on start up for about 30 seconds then it stabilizes, when put in gear the light of the R or D flashes and vehicle turns off, feels sluggish driving after it starts working

Beware that sometimes the battery tests as "OK" when it isn't really 100% at all.
All XFs and especially the XFR are very sensitive to battery condition and even 95% will cause problems.
If it's still the original battery in the car it will be somewhere around 8 years old now and well overdue for replacement.
If you need a new one then go for AGM, they cost a bit more than the standard flooded cell type that are OEM in a 2010 XFR but they are worth it in the long run.
