Default 2011 XJ-L aftermarket wheel fitment

Hi all, sorry for the ignorant question, but here goes: I have a set of 20" OEM Portfolio rims and 255 50R20 tires taken off a 2018 F-Pace. The wheels are 8.5J x 20 with a 45mm offset, and the F-Pace has a 5 x 108 mm bolt pattern. A gentleman with a 2011 XJ-L has asked if they'll fit his vehicle. I understand they're different from the OEM wheel specs on the XJ-L, but I can't find anywhere whether they'll still fit. I think the answer is maybe that the wheels would in theory fit, but only with low profile 20" tires, and that the current tires are going to be too tall? Thanks for any fitment details can provide. I know the basics of wheel and tire fitment but am far from an expert.

Yeah the overall diameter of that wheel is substantially more than the oem diameter, more than 2 inches (27.7 vs. 30) for the fronts.

It will definitely make the car ride higher, and i wouldnt doubt there might be some rubbing when turning or hard bumps.

Plus, i realize this isnt your concern, being the seller, but i think thats going to look goofy on an XJ, unless he intends to change the tire size.

I'm pretty sure that the 2011 XJL and XJsss' 2013 XJ SuperSport both have 5.0L engines, albeit in different states of tune, and have the same size staggered 20" wheels. Those F-Pace wheels are too narrow for the XJ and, even if you could get them to fit with new low profile tires, ride quality, handling, and safety would be compromised and the TPMS would probably throw fault codes and be disabled.

My suggestion would be to avoid any statements about alternative fitment, as there is some potential liability there - like after a week the buyer finds that they are rubbing and wants his money back.

Stick to a factual statement like “they came off such and such a vehicle, size is blah” and so on.
